Harrogate

Its about time I started writing my blog regularly. So I thought I would start with my recent participation at the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate. It was my 2nd time exhibiting and it was swarmed with even more jewellers than last year. A couple who I would like to mention, Andrea Thorpe and Clara Breen create beautiful silver and gold jewellery and are very talented designers.
Although the show was more successful for me than last year, it was a lot quiter and buyers were a lot more reluctant to place orders. This confirms my fears that recession is looming which will be tough on new designers trying to build their businesses.
On a brighter note I showcased 2 new collections at Harrogate, 'Rococo Heart' and 'Wild Rose'


'Rococo Heart' comprises of necklaces, dainty stud and drop earrings, and silver & freshwater pearl charm bracelets. They are available in various colours;
Green with aventurine a lush semi-precious stone.
Black with white freshwater pearl.
Purple & turquoise with amethyst.
Rich Red with deep garnets.
Pretty pink with white freshwater pearl.
Yellow with delicate citrine stones.
'Wild Rose' is a very feminine red range with white freshwater pearls.

Contemporary Designer Jewellery

My collections of contemporary anodised aluminium fashion jewellery are produced using innovative printing and colouring techniques. The unique ranges comprise of rich, vibrantly coloured pieces combined with lustrous hand-strung pearls and semi-precious stones. Layering, use of bold colours, intricate patterns and textures all combine to produce a variety of exciting and wearable pieces.

Through layering the lightweight qualities of the metal can be exploited, allowing the pieces to vary greatly in scale. Bold colours, intricate patterns and textures all combine to create fun and interesting collections.

These pieces shown are from two new Spring/Summer collections, Nouveau Twist and Peacock Spray. Inspired by Victorian era and floral designs the pieces are brought to life through summer yellow hues and saturated pinks. The collections consist of exotic stud, drop and chandelier earrings, decadent pearl necklaces, cuffs, rings and brooches.

My desire is to make contemporary, fashionable jewellery, inspired by traditional, ornamental style patterns brought to life through vibrant, striking colours.
